Detroit, MI- Bank of Michigan $20 18__ G32 Lee DET-7-38 Proof PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
The bank was the second organized in Michigan, being chartered in 1817. The bank was more or less successful until overwhelmed by financial reverses occasioned by the Panic of 1837. The bank closed in 1842 without loss to the firm's creditors. This is high grade example of this $20 proof and the first we have offered in ten years.
