    Description

    Wiscasset, MA - Wiscasset Bank $3 Mar. 1, 1818 G18
The notes of this Maine district bank became worthless in 1820 after eight years in business following Maine's entry into the Union. Notes from this bank are very scarce, as is evidenced by the fact that this is the only one we have sold. It appears that most notes were destroyed following 1820, but we are left with this lovely Perkins Plate style example. PCGS Very Fine 30 is an extraordinary grade for this type.
