Extremely Rare Uncancelled Bunker Hill Bank $1

Charlestown, MA- Bunker Hill Bank $1 June 17, 1858 G10b
An excessively rare piece which is one of the most iconic obsolete notes. This example displays a red tint along with a green overprint, and represents the last issue of notes from the bank. The vignette depicts the presentation of the Declaration of Independence. Most notes from this bank are hole punched cancelled, but not this piece, which is well nigh perfect for its grade. The last example we know of to sell at auction was a piece which graded Very Fine, and fetched $5405 in a 2013 Stack's auction. This beauty should realize no less today. PCGS Very Fine 30.
