    Description

Boston, MA- The Granite Bank $1 Sept. 10, 1833 G4
Despite a long life, this elusive bank, later to become the Second National Bank of Boston, remains one of the very scarcest Boston issuers, being represented in collections by little else than altered and spurious examples. This specimen, formerly one of the highlights of Tom Denly's Boston obsolete holdings, is a notable exception. Extremely Fine, a very rare note listed as SENC in the Haxby reference.
