    Boston, MA - Lot of 3 Altered Bills from the Waubeek Bank, De Soto, Nebraska.
    An interesting study trio of classic altered bills from rarely seen genuine Boston bank titles.
    State Bank $2 Nov. 1, 1857 Altered Note MA-365 UNL. PCGS Very Fine 20.
    As earlier, with the layout seen on the Granite Bank of Boston $2 altered note. A sailor and miner support a shield with the motto FORWARD at top center. Women carry grain at the left, and America is at the right with a Native American princess. Choice for the note.
    State Bank $5 Oct. 4, 1857 Altered Note MA-365 A15 PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent.
    This has the same layout as the Market Bank $5 from Bangor, Maine in this sale, also altered from De Soto. Beneath the title, a wide vignette shows a sidewheel steamer gliding along; a blue "O" is stamped in the right. Clay is at lower left, and Washington is at lower right. "Tape on Back" is noted by grading.
    Traders Bank $1 May 1, 1857 Altered Note MA-375 A10. PCGS Fine 12.
    A farmer takes a break as those behind work the field with grain cradles. A red ONE protector is across on this note with the American Bank Note Company imprint. Noted as "Hole Punch Cancelled" by grading.
