    Hagerstown, MD- Valley Bank $5 Apr. 1, 1856
    This example is the variety with the gray "FIVE." Several different attractive vignettes featuring women appear on this note. Valley Bank's charter was approved on Mar. 10, 1848. President A. Clark would close this bank's doors for the final time in 1856. These $5 notes were engraved and imprinted by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson, New York. A "T" has been stamped in blue ink to the left of the central vignette. Fine+.
