    Portland, ME- Bank of the Georgia Lumber Co. $2 Dec. 4, 1845 G4
    New England land speculators, two of whom were from Maine, bought some 296,000 acres of land in Georgia in 1834 and sold it to the newly formed Georgia Lumber Company in 1835. Apparently this "bank" was somehow involved in the ensuing financial maneuvering that went on for a number of years. The note grades About Uncirculated.
