    Shreveport, LA- State of Louisiana $50 Mar. 10, 1863 Cr. 12
    Part of a series of notes that Blanton Duncan produced for the State of Louisiana, this $50 design depicts General Leonidas Polk who, in addition to his military role, served as bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. Known as the Fighting Bishop, he was killed in action at Pine Mountain on June 14, 1864 when hit by a three-inch solid shot. The notes, which have a decorative green back, grade Very Good-Fine with ink erosion in the signatures and Extremely Fine with glue residue over the entire back. (Total: 2 notes)
