    Printed in both English and French, this green and orange remainder is Choice Crisp Uncirculated. The portrait at lower right is Edmond J. Forstall who successfully negotiated the sale of bonds issued by the state in favor of the bank. Forstall was also a corporal in the Battalion d'Orleans during the Battle of New Orleans. The vignette at left is "Hope," engraved by Charles K. Burt, based on the work of artist Joseph Durham.
