Parish of Bienville, LA- Parish of Bienville $1 June 14, 1862
A classic antebellum sidewheeler steamboat sails by majestically on this $1 issue. It is printed on thin tissue-like paper and has remained remarkably intact, all things considered. Very Good-Fine with a few edge dings, nibbles, and folds as would be expected; one significant tear extends from the bottom margin up to between the "L" and "O" in "LOUISIANA." Thus far, previous owners have wisely resisted the temptation to unlimber the glue pot or tape dispenser. With the note protected in a holder, it is not going to get any worse.
