    New Orleans, LA- Patterson Iron Works 25¢, 50¢, $1, $2 Various 1862 dates
    Patterson Iron Works and Jackson & Co. both participated in the construction of the CSS Mississippi, a triple screw ironclad designed to defend the lower Mississippi River from Union naval forces. She was launched only partially finished and was ultimately burned to keep her from falling into enemy hands. The 25¢ note grades Fine with a tape repair of a closed hole; the 50¢ note Fine-Very Fine; the $1 note Fine; and the $2 note Fine-Very Fine. The lower three denominations have green design elements while the $2 design elements are red.
