    Description

New Orleans, LA- Citizens' Bank of Louisiana $10 186_ Remainder
Popularly credited as the note that launched the term "Dixie" (due to the appearance of "DIX" [the French word for TEN] on the back), this attractive red and black National Bank Note Co. produced note was printed years after the song's creation. The honor more likely belongs to earlier Louisiana $10s that had similar designs using DIX. This example grades Choice About Uncirculated with faint evidence of minor handling on the left end. This is certainly offset by the fact that, unlike many of its peers, this note's paper is not toned.
