    Description

New Orleans, LA- A.T. Brady at Citizens' Bank of New Orleans $1 Feb. 1, 1862
We have never offered this denomination from this issuer and note only one other appearance of any kind (a $2 denomination in 2008). This is a rather enigmatic issue. The issuer, A.T. Brady, does not appear in any census records and the "Citizens' Bank of New Orleans" apparently refers to the Citizens' Bank of Louisiana in New Orleans. Although PCGS only grades this note Apparent Fine 12 due to assorted edge maladies and a more significant tear running from the signature up through the right vignette, this note is rare enough that it will not make much difference to serious Louisiana collectors.
