    Description

    (Floyd), LA- Parish of Carroll $1 July 8, 1862
    The parish seat was moved from Lake Providence to Floyd in the mid 1850s. This $1 note was signed by J.L. Cheatham, Clerk Police Jury and Edw. Shaw, President Police Jury. The note states, "The Treasurer of the Parish of Carroll will Pay to Bearer (denomination) out of the Proceeds of the above Military Assessment." A riverboat vignette is observed at bottom center. PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35, with minor mounting remnants on the back.
