Danville, KY- Bank of Kentucky $1 G110 Hughes 484Danville was one of the branch locations for the Bank of Kentucky which was opened in 1834. The bank and all but one of its branches closed in January 1866. This design is often seen in the form of counterfeits that plagued this bank throughout its existence. The note features a portrait of Henry Clay as well as two groups of men and women representing Agriculture, Industry, Maritime Interests, and the Family. PMG has graded this note Choice About Uncirculated 58 with a "Tear" noted on the back of the holder. This tear is quite difficult to detect (it may be in the lower margin outside of the design frame line between the "t" and "h" in "Danforth"). In any case, it certainly has a minimal impact on the note's desirability.
