Likely Unique Dubuque Branch State Bank of Iowa $3

Dubuque, IA- State Bank of Iowa $3 Sept. 1, 1863 G92 Oakes 60-8
A great Iowa Obsolete rarity which is listed as SENC in the Haxby reference and as R-7 in Oakes. Our friend Tom Flynn was a Dubuque native, and searched diligently for any Dubuque notes from this branch of the State Bank of Iowa. He found a $1, a $2 and a $5, all of which we offered when we sold his collection back in 2008, but never had the opportunity to purchase a $3 example. Each of Tom's Dubuque notes went for between $2,500 and $4,500, and this likely unique piece will probably end at the higher number rather than the lower. PCGS Apparent Fine 12, with some small edge splits and minor reverse staining that affects nothing on a note of this rarity.
