    Anamosa, IA- Wapsipinicon Land Co. $3 March 4, 1858
    Only $1 and $3 post notes were issued by the Wapsipinicon Land Co. President William T. Shaw built the Dubuque & Southwestern Railroad from Farley to Anamosa; was part of a banking firm known as Shaw, Schoonover & Co.; and was later elected to the state legislature. Shaw was a cousin of Col. Robert G. Shaw who commanded the all-black 54th Regiment in the Union Army during the Civil War and was killed at Fort Wagner. Very Fine, with areas of staining.
