(De Witt), Clinton County, IA- Soldier's Bounty Warrant $1 Oct. 1862
A cancelled example of this attractive note, this is the variety printed in blue ink that includes a vignette of a helmeted woman at left and three men gathering corn in a field and loading it into a horse-drawn wagon at right. Six percent interest was paid on the note from November 1, 1862 until it was payable on December 1, 1863. The notes were printed by Horton and Leonard in Clinton, IA. Very Fine with a few pinholes noticed.
