    Description

Terre Haute, IN- State Bank of Indiana Terre Haute Branch Spurious $10 May 14, 1858
As one of the most successful banks in the United States, the State Bank of Indiana attracted all sorts of counterfeit and spurious notes. This example is the latter, bearing no resemblance to any legitimate issue. As such, it was placed in circulation in areas other than Indiana where people might be familiar with the bank but not with what its issues looked like. Fine-Very Fine with a few very small edge repairs.
