New Albany, IN- State Bank of Indiana Branch $10 Jan. 31, 1837 The State Bank of Indiana was one of the foremost banks in the United States from 1834 to 1855 when it began winding up its affairs. As a result it was an attractive target for criminals whose craft was creating spurious designs to fool the unsuspecting who knew the bank name but not what genuine notes looked like. This design was unlike any ever issued by the branches of the State Bank of Indiana. This $10 grades Fine-Very Fine with a very minor paper pull on the back where a stamp hinge was imperfectly removed.
