Marion, IN- Ohio, Indiana & Illinois Rail Road Company $2 Jan. 26, 1855
A quick check of our archives reveals that this is only the second example we have been able to offer. The other note, a Fine, was offered in August 2005. PMG assigned a grade of About Uncirculated 50 to this handsome example. The styling of this note was intended to mislead people into thinking these were actually state issued notes, as "The State of Indiana" appears in large, bold letters at the center of the note and the actual name of the "issuer" is seen in much smaller letters near the top of the note, arching over the train vignette. President Harrison's portrait is seen at lower right.
