    Description

Lebanon, IN- Boone County Bank $3 Oct. 1, 1860 Fine.
Mounting remnants on back, ink. The bank opened and very quickly closed in 1860 after the bank's promoters had additional notes printed and illegally issued in addition to the circulation issued through the Auditor of State's office. The printer, W.L. Ormsby, for some reason sent notes to both the Auditor of State and the bank's owners. The $3 features a great eagle vignette and is the scarcest denomination from the bank.
