    Goshen, IN- Salem Bank $1 Jan. 1,1864 G10 Wolka 244-1 / 0740-01 (2018) PMG Fine 12.
    The Salem Bank was a Free Bank that opened in 1854 and was located in Salem (modern day Wakarusa) with its principal office in nearby Goshen. The bank successfully navigated the Civil War and the financial upheavals of 1854 and 1857 and went on to become the Salem Bank & Trust Company which is today part of 1st Source Bank. There was $379 in outstanding circulation as of 1875. The few remaining notes are all high end R-7 rarities. This is the first time we have offered any dollar denominated note from this institution.
