Cannelton, IN- Farmers and Mechanics Bank $3 Aug. 25, 1858 G6 Wolka 98-3
The Farmers and Mechanics Bank was a private, unauthorized bank owned by people out-of-state that is believed to have opened in the 1850s. There were four denominations of notes produced by W.L. Ormsby and the signatures were engraved on the notes. PMG assigned a grade of Choice About Unc 58 Net to this example, citing a tear and toning as the reasons for the net grade. The serial number on this example is 2020. We have only been able to offer a few of these rare notes over the years.
