    Rare Arizona Territory Merchants Scrip

    Hampden, Mohave Co., AZ - F. S. Collins & Co. $2 ND (ca. 1890's)
A very rare piece of merchants scrip from Arizona Territory and the first example we have ever handled. Likely printed towards the end of the Nineteenth Century, this piece of scrip is a quality product with boldly printed details on the face and excellent color on the back. Research indicates that this merchant issued a series of denominations ranging from 25¢ to $5, all of whose surviving examples can be counted on the fingers of one hand. This pretty note has sustained only moderate wear and, aside from a couple of miniscule edge splits, is problem free for the grade. PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30.
