Reidsville, GA- Tattnall County Bank $1 "Draft" 187_ UNL Proprietary Proof PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
The bank apparently planned to use this "draft" as a way to issue notes for circulation, circumventing federal laws. The existence of a $2 remainder suggests that the plan progressed to at least having drafts printed. This is a so-called Proprietary Proof, printed in the 20th century from the original plates by ABNCo. The note was originally designed by Continental Bank Note Company which later merged with ABNCo in 1879. It incorporates a large rafting scene. There are no known $1 notes at present aside from these Proprietary Proofs.
