    Description

Washington, DC- Chemical Bank $10 July 14, 1853 G18 PMG Very Fine 30.
The Chemical Bank was probably one of the District's collection of fraudulent banking institutions. W.L. Ormsby printed this note and never seemed to be too far away from banks that were not all they seemed to be. The center vignette is a seldom seen rendition of Archimedes lifting the world with his lever. PMG mentions that the note has been repaired.
