Norwich, CT- Quinebaug Bank $10 18__ as G20 Proof PMG Uncirculated 61 Net.
The bank was in business from 1832 until 1864 when it became the First National Bank of Norwich. The note has vignettes of Justice and Mercury as well as a large gray TEN protector. The note is printed on India paper with the usual POCs in the signature lines and a 1/2" repaired tear at right that does not touch any of the vignettes or counters. This design was not represented in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale. A lack of public appearances over the last decades suggests that this note is quite rare.
