New Haven, CT- Elm City Bank $2 Apr. 1, 1862 G4b PCGS Apparent Fine 15.
Featuring large green "2" and "TWO-2-TWO" protectors and a seldom seen ship building vignette, this note also has a decorative green back. Once part of the Eric P. Newman collection, this is the only issued note of any denomination we have ever offered from this bank which became the Second National Bank of New Haven (Charter 227) in early 1864. PCGS notes a 1/8" edge tear at bottom left that will not matter on a note of this rarity.
