    Genuine Signature of Sam Houston

    Austin, TX- Treasurer of the State of Texas $77.54 June 9, 1860 Cr. AW16 Medlar 146
    A genuine signature of Sam Houston as governor on the back adorns this rare warrant. This example is of the Medlar variety where "Legislature" is misspelled as "Legislaturr." The Shull reference states on page 395 that Houston's signature increases the value of this note by about six times. The apparent grade is for small edge tears and minor ink erosion (which has nothing to do with the Houston signature). PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30, pen canceled.
