    Washington, AR- Exchange Company at Washington $3 Aug. 1, 1862 Rothert 684-15
    An attractive $3 example, this note is the variety printed on the backs of Arkansas Real Estate Bank of the State of Arkansas $5 remainders from the Washington branch. That bank operated from 1838-43. These notes were payable to the bearer "in Arkansas War Bonds, Treasury Notes, Confederate Notes or Louisiana Bank Notes" when presented in sums of $20. Rothert assigned a rarity rating of R-7 to all of the notes from this issuer, indicating 1 to 5 known. A great piece of Arkansas History graded PMG Choice Fine 15 and housed in a comment-free holder.
