Only $1 and $3 denominations are listed for this issuer in Rothert. W. Wyatt signed this boldly printed unlisted $5 note as treasurer and B.F. Askew signed as president. The note certainly has a better appearance than the grade might imply. PMG Choice Fine 15 Net, with the net grade assigned due to rust stains and tears. Exchange banks were a way around an amendment to the state constitution that was passed in 1846 outlawing banks after the State Banks had failed.
