    Little Rock, AR- William F. Pope, Postmaster $1 Rothert 427-5
    William F. Pope served as the Postmaster for Little Rock from 1849-55 and served again in that position during the Civil War from 1861-64. He issued a series of notes that were receivable for postage ranging in value from 10¢ to $3. His signature appears on this $1 note that grades Fine with minor translucency in all four corners due to mounting residue. A note that should be of interest to numismatists and philatelists alike.
