Little Rock, AR- State Bank of Arkansas, Fayetteville Branch $10 Post Note Apr. 6, 1838 G158 Rothert 186-7 PMG Choice Fine 15.
The Fayetteville Branch opened in 1838 but was beset by poor, if not fraudulent, business practices, with entire bank network beginning liquidation in 1843. This note is the plate note in the Rothert catalog and was once part of the Eric P. Newman collection. A pleasant evenly circulated note in a comment-free holder. Recent estimates point to a surviving population of fewer than five examples.
