    Fort Smith, AR - E. S. Mitchell, Redeemed at Doaksville and Boggy Depot, C.N., by J.P. Kingsbury & Co. $1 May 1, 1862 Rothert 236-9. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent.
    This is a $1 type from the Cherokee Nation series printed on the back of an engraved store scrip note (the issuer is unknown to us, but the vignette is visible on this example) by Foster, Printer, Fort Smith. A pattern border is all around and the typeset text is within. ONE DOLLAR is across the center, and the upper corners have bolded "$1" counters. The Cherokee Nation payable clause is across the top. This is noted with "Repairs; Pinholes by grading. Bright from the face and on a par with or better than similar example sold in Newman Internet 1, May 2016 for $2,530 graded PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent.
