    Fayetteville, AR - Stirman & Dickson $1 Jan. 25, 1862 Rothert 201-3 PCGS Apparent Fine 15.
This scrip was redeemable just about anyplace you could think of--Fort Smith, Fort Gibson (Indian Territory), Little Rock, Van Buren, or Fayetteville, AR. Issued in late January 25, 1862, These multiple redemption locations were probably good news as most of Fayetteville was burned to the ground by Confederate defenders about four weeks after this note was first released to circulation. PCGS notes internal splits and repaired edge splits, accounting for the apparent designation. Ex: Eric P. Newman Collection.
