    Description

Arkadelphia, AR- Arkadelphia Exchange $1 Jan. 1, 1863 Rothert UNL PCGS Very Fine 20.
During the Civil War, Arkadelphia served as a supply depot and munitions manufacturing location. Several skirmishes were fought near the town late in the war with little damage done to the town itself. This note appears to be signed by J.P. rather than I.W. Smith and merits further research. This is the only example of this design that we have offered. Ex: Eric P. Newman Collection.
