    Description

Montgomery, AL- The State of Alabama $1 Jan. 1, 1863 Cr. 1
While certainly not rare, this example is much nicer than the majority of the $1 notes we see. Governor John Gill Shorter is depicted on the left while the state capitol (which also served the Confederate Congress and government in 1861) and a rendition of the state seal occupy the central and right portions of the note. PCGS grades this note Choice About New 58.
