Description

Eufaula, AL- Eastern Bank of Alabama $5-$5-$5-$5 18__ G8a x4 Uncut Sheet PMG Extremely Fine 40.
The bank was organized in 1858 and lingered on for awhile after the end of the Civil War, closing its doors in 1867. The $5 design features a wagonload of cotton bales being drawn by six mules flanked by an oval portrait of Washington at left and a scene of a cotton bale being prepped at right. A dark green tint covers the face and a green and white FIVE protector covers the center of the design. PMG mentions some lightly penciled annotations which affect nothing.
