Wilmington, NC- The North Carolina Arm Factory 25¢ Oct. 22, 1861 Remainder PMG Very Fine 25 Net.
Shortly after he immigrated to the U.S., Bavarian mechanic Louis B. Froelich and his partner Bela Estvan opened the factory. Edge weapons were one of their specialties, and they supplied them to the Confederacy and the state of North Carolina. Shortly after the date of this note, the enterprise changed its name to the CSA Arms Factory. It has been repaired (the reason for the Net grade). It also has contemporary writing on the back in German.
