    Description

Trenton, TN- Bank of Trenton $2 Jan. 1, 1856 G4 as Garland 1246 S-C T-B.T-2-Pf Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
The $2 design features a large vignette of a suspension bridge as well as a vignette of an allegorical female standing and the state comptroller die. It is printed on India paper with the usual small POCs in the signature lines (one of the POCs has a minor pull with all paper retained.) There was one example of this note in Lot 1926 in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale. This Proof also serves as the plate note in the Schafluetzel-Carson state catalog. The population of surviving Proofs of this design is believed to be two examples.
