    Excessively Rare Coal and Salt Company issue

    Syracuse, OH- The Syracuse Coal & Salt Co. $1 July 1, 1874 Wolka 2506-06
    This company was founded around 1855 and went bankrupt in 1928. This note was most likely used by employees to buy goods at the company store. The note has a light green tint on the face and a seated angel with harp and book on the left. It grades Very Good and is presently unique. A higher grade variety, with two known examples, sold in our 2014 CSNS Signature auction for $587.50.
