    Providence, RI- Mount Vernon Bank $3 Nov. 22, 1858 G56 Durand 1687 PCGS Choice New 63.
    The bank was incorporated in 1823, operating out of Foster, RI. It moved to Providence in 1854 and remained in business there until 1859 when it suspended. The $3 design features a vignette of a farrier at work, based on the Landseer painting Shoeing the Bay Mare. This is flanked by a vignette of a standing woman and a portrait of a young girl as well as a large red 3 protector.
