Lewisburg, PA- Lewisburg Bank $5 18__ as G4b Proof PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ.
The bank was organized in 1853 (some sources say 1857) and remained in business until becoming the Lewisburg National Bank in 1865. This is a striking note printed in blue with an overall orange tint and a large orange and white FIVE protector. The note is printed on India paper with the usual small POCs in the signature lines. While a large number of proofs from this bank came out of the ABNCo Archives sale, it appears that only two of these blue and orange $5s were included as Lot 1590.
