Lebanon, NH- Bank of Lebanon $100 June __, 18__ as G92a Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
The Bank of Lebanon opened in 1828 and remained in business until it became the National Bank of Lebanon (Ch. 8080) in early 1865. The note features a large vignette of Ceres seated with sheep and two additional vignettes of children. There is also a green C - C protector and green protector panel as well as a small green 100 counter at bottom center. There are faint glue stains on the back suggesting that this note, which has no POCs, was previously mounted. A variety with orange tints was known to, and listed by, Haxby. We are unaware of any public appearances since this note was sold in one of the Schingoethe sales in 2007. Rare and likely to stay that way.
