    Description

Johnstown, PA- Cambria Iron Works - Wood, Morrel & Co. 5¢ ___ 1863 Remainder Hoober UNL PMG Extremely Fine 40.
The company was founded in 1852 , eventually becoming part of Bethlehem Steel in 1923. Thanks to its location, the company's works were largely unscathed by the Johnstown Flood. This note, which is unlisted in Hoober, was intended for use circa 1863 by company employees in the company store. The plain but rather striking note is printed in red with "Store Order" printed in blue. We have not offered this denomination previously as an individual note.
