    Description

    Jerseyville, IL - William Shepherd 5¢ Nov. 1, 1862
We have only sold two pieces of Obsolete scrip on Jerseyville with this being one of the two. Both bear Civil War era dates with this note displaying a central vignette of a steaming locomotive and with Shepherd's signature at bottom. Repaired edge tears and lower right corner reattached don't make this note any more common. The only one we have seen and quite possibly unique. PCGS Apparent Very Good 10.
