Griggsville, IL- Bank of Pike County $10 18__ as G10a Proof PMG Uncirculated 62.
This was the largest denomination issued by the bank and traces its provenance back to the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale where it was part of lot 354. Featuring an oval portrait of Liberty, a smaller oval vignette of two workmen talking, and a very large red 10 protector, this note is on card with the usual small POCs in the signature lines. PMG notes the presence of three stamp hinges on the back as well as a small lightly penciled annotation (165-). The note reappeared in 2007 in one of the Schingoethe sales where it was acquired by our consignor. We are unaware of any other public auction appearances in the last decade
From the Charles R. Pease, Jr. Collection
