Columbia, TX- Commercial & Agricultural Bank of Texas $1 18__ G2 Medlar 18 Remainder PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
The C&A was the only bank authorized in the state of Texas prior to the first National Banks being chartered in the state in 1865. This authority dated back to 1835, when the bank's charter was granted by the Mexican government. Therefore, the Mexican eagle vignette is at top center. This uniface remainder from the C plate is denominated "One Dollar" in English and "Un Peso" in Spanish. This is the highest graded note without any equals that we have auctioned on this institution.
