Cheyenne, WY- Stork System of Savings Supply Co. 5¢ ND (1910-30) Remainder PMG Extremely Fine 40.
The Stork System of Savings scrip was popular in the West from 1910-30. This program provided a method to save money for a child's education. In a nutshell, a store would enroll a child in the Stork System and provide one dollar in order to start the child's savings account at a local bank. The store would then issue scrip in the amount of five per cent of future purchases made by the parents, relatives, or friends of the child. The scrip could then be deposited to the child's savings account. The savings and interest could not be withdrawn until the child was 15 years old.
